About Me

I am a U.S. Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My experiences living in Korea, the U.S., and various Asian countries, including Singapore, Cambodia, and Indonesia, have given me a deep understanding of diverse cultural environments.

I have worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, families, married couples, and premarital couples. My training and professional experiences have enhanced my sensitivity to cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity, helping me understand and appreciate the unique needs and perspectives of individuals from all walks of life.

Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

Starting therapy takes courage, and it is a privilege to walk alongside clients on this vulnerable yet meaningful journey. My goal is to create a warm and safe space where trust and freedom are experienced. Rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, I deeply respect clients’ life experiences and collaborate with them to uncover their sense of agency and enrich their lives. I believe each client holds the key to their own change and healing.

My primary approach is Object Relations Therapy, acknowledging how early childhood experiences shape our present interactions and relationships. Life encompasses both good and bad aspects, and so do people. Embracing these contrasting aspects and re-experiencing secure relationships in therapy ultimately leads to freedom and growth. I also integrate brief psychodynamic therapy and family systems theory, and incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples therapy.
