Yae-eun Sim, M.A.
I am a certified family counselor, specializing in family and relationship issues. My areas of expertise also include depression, anxiety, adjustment stress, and self-esteem concerns. I work with children, adolescents, as well as adults while providing services both in English and Korean.
Every client is an expert on one’s own life story and I help clients find an alternative story based on the valuable qualities they already have in their lives. In this sense, I provide a non-judgmental space and empower my clients to reach their full potential for positive growth. I focus on my clients’ unique experiences in the here and now and walk with them step by step toward their goals. My therapeutic approach is integrative and is grounded in Solution-Focused Therapy, which focuses on clients’ strength and resilience. I also draw on Narrative Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Family Play Therapy to provide tailored treatment to each client’s needs. I believe life is what we define it to be and I am passionate about helping clients form an alternative, desired day-to-day life.
