About Me

In Texas, I was a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and had the privilege of providing counseling to a wide range of clients of varying ages. After returning to Korea, I transitioned from my LPC license to obtaining certification as the first counseling specialist and supervisor of play counseling. I have remained committed to lifelong learning and am genuinely dedicated to providing professional counseling services for my clients.

Philosophy and Therapeutic Approach

My goal as a therapist is to provide a secure and non-judgmental environment in which my clients can explore and overcome their life's challenges. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort, and I work closely with my clients to develop strategies that help them deal with their presenting concerns. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all counseling approach. Instead, I firmly believe that openness and flexibility are essential for individualizing interventions in counseling and achieving effective results. As such, I utilize a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Object-Relation Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy.

Unlike adults, children may not have the verbal skills required to express their issues and emotions fluently. Toys and play serve as their means of communication. During one of my play therapy sessions, a child told me, 'Teacher, when I leave here, I leave my worries here and take joy home with me.' I strongly believe that children's play is never meaningless, and I aim to help them express and explore themselves fully through play in order to foster optimal growth.
